On October 5th 2021 Latvian Customs Authorities organized the anti counterfeiting training session intended for the customs and police officers in charge of IP and anti counterfeiting work. In the training took part more than 100 participants, including representatives of World Customs Organization (WCO), European Union Intellectual property office (EUIPO), Latvian Patent Office, as well as representatives of Right-holders.

The trademark attorneys of Agency TRIA ROBIT Mr. Broņislavs Baltrumovičs and Ms. Sabīne Ūdre provided presentations on behalf of the right holders Comité interprofessionnel du vin de Champagne (CIVC – protected geographical indication Champagne); Comité international olympique (IOC – Olympic symbols) and Nokia Corporation (Nokia brand), informing customs officials about the latest trends of the original products and their protection signs, as well as about the most recent counterfeits and their distinguishing features. We thank the customs officers who work tirelessly to prevent counterfeits from entering free market, and the specialists of the Risk Management Division of the Customs Authorities for the successful organization and handling of the seminar.
