On January 21, 2021, the Saeima of the Republic of Latvia adopted and on February 2, the President of the State announced amendments to the Civil Procedure Law, by which professional patent attorneys has been renewed in the right to represent their clients before the court of cassation instance (Senate of the Supreme Court) in industrial property disputes.
The trademark attorneys of Agency TRIA ROBIT Mr. Broņislavs Baltrumovičs and Ms. Sabīne Ūdre provided presentations on behalf of the right holders HUGO BOSS; L`Oreal; Champagne and Hello Kitty, informing customs officials about the latest trends of the original products and their protection signs, as well as about the most recent counterfeits and their distinguishing features.
Bronislavs Baltrumovics, senior lawyer and trademark attorney of Agency TRIA ROBIT, helped Muhammad Azeem and LLC “Mishel Azeem and Company” successfully protect the company’s trademark from an attempt by a former partner to register a trademark in his name illegally and in bad faith.

On February 6, 2020, the Saeima (the Parliament) of the Republic of Latvia in third reading approved the new “Trademark Law”, which will replace the previous law “On Trademarks and Geographical Indications”, which has been in force in Latvia since July 15, 1999.
On 12 June 2019 the Trademark Attorneys of Agency TRIA ROBIT Ms Alina Bogdanovica and Mrs Alona Sivcova have successfully graduated the EUIPO Trade Mark and Design (ETMD) Education Programme in Alicante, Spain that was specially designed to accommodate the training needs of intellectual property practitioners dealing with the registration and prosecution of European Union trade marks (EUTM) and Community designs (RCD).
