A law establishing a specialized court for intellectual property rights is passed in Russia

The Federal Constitutional Law 06 December 2011 "On Amendments to the Federal Constitutional Law “On Judicial System of the Russian Federation” and the Federal Constitutional Law “On arbitration courts in Russian Federation" in connection with the creation of system of arbitration courts of the Court of intellectual property rights" entered into force on December 8, 2011.
In accordance with this Law, a special court for intellectual property rights in the system of arbitration courts should be established not later than on 1 February 2013. The Court will consider disputes relating to the protection of intellectual property rights within its jurisdiction as a court of first instance and cassation instance. Cases of this category will be considered by the Court regardless of whether the parties are organizations, individual entrepreneurs or citizens.
