On November 22-24, 2011 trainings for customs officers, authorities of other institutions of the State Revenue Service and invited officers from the State Police of the respective region were held in Liepaja, Riga and Daugavpils. During the seminars a number of experts of various trademark owners as well as other specialists in intellectual property matters gave their presentations. As usual, patent attorneys of Agency TRIA ROBIT Ruta Olmane and Bronislavs Baltrumovics participated in these trainings with a number of presentations, including the presentations on Hugo Boss and Chanel brands, as well as on trademarks owned by Soremartec and Reckit Benckiser. In addition, Agency TRIA ROBIT invited the expert of world's largest pharmaceutical company Pfizer to participate in the trainings. During the presentations the customs authorities, SRS and police officers were informed about recent developments in the fight against counterfeiting. Besides it a detailed information on a number of specific product identification methods were given, thus assisting to the respective staff in their daily work in detecting counterfeits.
